Mrs. Scanlon

My name is Jessica Scanlon. I am the school counselor for students with the last names beginning with letters M-Z.  This is my first year at CMMS and I am excited to be joining the Cougar Mountain family! I am in my 9th year with Bethel School District and have worked with students and families in the K-5 setting. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, connecting with others, playing tennis, doing fun runs, and being on the water kayaking, paddle boarding or fishing! I am looking forward to the upcoming school year and getting to know you!

Mrs. Berglund

My name is Carrie Berglund and I am one of the school counselors here at CMMS. I see students with last names beginning with letters A-L.  I'm in my 33rd year in the district and have been both a classroom teacher and a counselor. This is my 9th year at Cougar Mountain and I am so glad to be at such a supportive and positive school. I enjoy spending time together with family and friends cheering for the WSU Cougars (Go Cougs!), traveling, going to concerts, being outdoors, reading mystery books, and attending community events.

Ms. Stockner

My name is Kirsten Stockner. I am the school social worker. This is my first year at CMMS and I am so happy to be a part of this community. I graduated from UW (Go Dawgs!) with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood and Family Studies and attended Boise State University for my Master’s in Social Work. I enjoy spending time with my family, watching the Seahawks, and having game nights with friends. Baking, organizing, and exercising help me to be my best self.

We see students individually, in small groups, and in the classroom setting.  During the course of the school year, it would be safe to predict that we will work with all kids in some capacity.  Many student concerns are common, ordinary kid concerns that can be handled at school. Be assured that if something were to come up that was more serious, parents would be contacted and we would work together to solve the situation.  Regarding confidentiality information shared with the counselors will remain confidential unless the student is a harm to themselves, a harm to others, or someone is harming the student.

To reach us here at school, feel free to call, email, or stop by the office.  If we are available, we will see you then.  If we are not available, we can schedule an appointment.
